Project #8860 - Holland, MI

Sensitivity to the past was of paramount importance in the design and construction of this remodel by Pennings & Sons. Design features of the original home were placed by the former owner who designed furnishings for furniture maker Herman Miller back in the 1950’s. A continued sense of balance and symmetry were designed and built into the new Great Room addition which now offers panoramic views of the lake. Interesting ceiling and roof features were incorporated to not only break up what would have been an otherwise expansive ceiling, but to accommodate upstairs Bedroom windows. Original brick was salvaged to help tie in the new addition with the home.
